Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) Melody Thomas Scott, who plays Nikki Newman, will release her autobiography on July 14, 2020. Entitled Always Young And Restless, the memoir will detail her childhood, her rise to stardom and her 40 year career on the Y&R.
The book will speak, in part, about how art imitates life. Scott led a troubled childhood and was brought up by her hoarder grandmother, who later became her manager. She also suffered abuse at the hands of Hollywood industry executives.
The character of Nikki also had a troubled childhood. She first appeared on Y&R as a poor girl with an abusive father. She later became a stripper at a popular nightclub in town. But she rose from the ashes to become Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) wife and the richest woman in Genoa City.

Scott recently celebrated her 40th anniversary on the Y&R and the show’s producers dedicated a tribute episode to her. As Nikki penned a letter to her grandchildren, viewers saw flashbacks to her most iconic moments.
